Location

The Salmon Weir Hostel is situated in the centre of Galway City and is in walking distance from the train station and bus terminal.(Click for map.)

From Dublin, Cork and Shannon Airport, with Direct City Link bus or Bus Eireann, or by train with Iarnrod Eireann.

The bus and train station is a 5 minute walk from the Salmon Weir Hostel.
When leaving the station walk through Eyre square park which is in front on you. At the top of the park turn left and follow the road down to the top of shop street where the road continues around to the right. Follow the road around until you reach the traffic lights at the Town Hall Theatre. Take a right at the traffic lights and you will see our friendly hostel on the left hand side of the road.

Directions from airport

Galway has an international airport located just 5 miles form the city centre. There is currently no bus service available form the airport to the city centre but there is a taxi rank just outside the arrivals terminal to take passengers to the city centre. You can ask the taxi driver to bring you directly to the hostel "Salmon Weir Hostel" , 3 St Vicents Avenue, Woodquay, Galway

From the main dual carriage way coming in from the Dublin road follow the signs for Clifden until you reach the round about which is controlled by traffic lights. Take the 2nd exit, which brings you towards the city center. Drive ahead passing straight through the next set of traffic lights and about 200 meters ahead on your right hand side you will see the salmon weir hostel.
